Dear Water Polo players, officials, and stakeholders,

We have started the season and it has been exciting to see everyone back in the pool and enjoying our great sport. Of course, the start of any season does not come without its challenges, and I am grateful for your patience, understanding and support as we respond as quickly as possible to concerns.

Growth and Participation (G&P)

While competitions for established players kicked off around the state, we were also focussing on another critical focus area for our sport: ...

Dear Water Polo players, officials, and stakeholders,

Well, the season is underway!

It was my pleasure to be down on pool deck yesterday along with staff members Oli, Mia, Renee, and Warren, to watch games being played in 4 different pools at HBF stadium concurrently.

Basically, Water Polo took over the stadium!!

Players of all ages, referees (some who had just played or were about to), young timekeepers learning the ropes, spectators and several HBF staff in attendance to help make things run smoothly and to set up the pools.

Apart from some ...

Dear Water Polo players, officials, and stakeholders,

Probably the single most important contributor to the success of any organisation is unity. This is why unity has become a primary strategic focus for the Board of WPWA.

So, what does it mean? What creates and sustains unity and how do you measure it?

These were all questions that were central to the Club Forum that was conducted 16 September. A number of club representatives came together (some zooming in) at WAIS to take part in a unity workshop that followed ...

Dear Water Polo players, officials, and stakeholders,

It’s been a very busy week with state trials, and a great opportunity for me to see the sport in action. Thanks to everyone for a great couple of weekends.

WPWA State Teams

Trials have been conducted and squads named! This is a big achievement, and I would like to thank everyone involved (umpires, coaches, selectors, parents, Bicton facility, and athletes) for your efforts, support and understanding.

The formal squad lists will be posted on the website soon. In the interim, squads ...

Dear Water Polo players, officials, and stakeholders,

So, after 7 days and nights of rain we had 7 days and nights of drought and we finally have our office back to normal (with a carpet that is nice and clean after a thorough rinse)!

There is still a chance that the whole building will require a major renovation, but that is in the hands of the insurers and certainly at this stage I do not foresee any major disruption to Water Polo.

Dear Water Polo players, officials, and stakeholders,

When I started in the role of GM, I was made aware of a few challenges facing our sport. One of these was the shortage of pool space for our current and future programs.

Of course, WPWA does not have its own facility, but we almost got there on the weekend.

I arrived on Sunday morning to find a massive flood in the Royal Life Saving building and over 1 inch of water in our offices. Perhaps not suitable for a ...
