What an incredible couple of weeks it’s been at the Australian Youth Water Polo Championships (AYWPC) brought to you by Water Polo Australia. Across the pool decks, we witnessed extraordinary talent, fierce competition, and above all, the unmistakable spirit of water polo. Our WA city and country teams represented our state with pride, resilience, and sportsmanship. We couldn’t be prouder of you all.
What truly defined these championships wasn’t just the scores or the medals, it was the passion that every young athlete brought to the game that made it unforgettable. There was something special about watching our talented youth play with such enthusiasm and love of the sport. The joy of playing with teammates, their perseverance, the courage to back themselves, and the unwavering support for one another was the heartbeat of the championships. Well done to every player and we would like to thank our dedicated coaches and referees for their amazing work they do.
It was fantastic to see an increase participation from teams across WA being involved in the championships and embracing the opportunity to learn from playing against other states. A very special shout out to our country teams from Busselton, Geraldton and our Pilbara team that travelled to be involved as well as a thank you to those teams that brought together members from various clubs to play together.
