National Water Polo Day, Saturday 14 September 2024, is fast approaching and clubs around Western Australia are preparing for an influx of new players inspired by the Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers performances at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Offering a mixture of water polo opportunities across the state from Come and Try events to mini competitions, the events, taking place across the 14-15 September, will not only play host to hundreds of participants, but to Western Australian Olympians, Zoe Arancini and Luke Pavillard.
Having recently returned home after their Paris 2024 campaigns, the same one which saw Ord Minnett Aussie Stingers’ captain Zoe Arancini led the team to a silver medal, the Olympians will be on hand to inspire the next generation of Australian water polo players. Returning to the state where their journeys first began, Arancini will be part of the celebrations at New Wave Water Polo Club, while UWA Water Polo Club will play host to Luke Pavillard, Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks’ left-handed sharpshooter.
National Water Polo Day is a celebration of water polo across Australia and aims to make water polo accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of previous experience.
For those who have not yet registered, it’s not too late to attend an event.
