AS part of the festivities of the FINA World League Inter-Continental Cup at HBF Stadium, the Women’s A-Grade Grand Final will take place this Saturday between the Melville Marlins and Applecross.
Because of the action taking place at HBF Stadium with the Inter-Continental Cup, the Grand Finals of the A-Grade competition will be part of the ticketed event.
But you can make a whole day out of taking in some world-class water polo along with the A-Grade Grand Final.
The Women’s Grand Final between the Marlins and Applecross will take place at 3pm at the HBF Stadium 10 Lanes Outdoor Pool.
Entry into HBF Stadium is $15 for adults and $10 children, but that will give you the chance to not only watch both the Men’s and Women’s A-Grade Grand Finals but to also take in the Inter-Continental Cup action as well.
The Grand Finals have been timed to be played in between the Inter-Continental Cup action so you want to have to choose between the two.

The Women’s A-Grade competition for the 2018-19 season ended up being contested between four teams with Dolphins and UWA Rangers bowing out at the end of Round 3.
The Melville Marlins and Applecross confirmed themselves as the top two teams throughout the season.
The Marlins finished on top of the table with 10 wins, a draw and four losses with Applecross finishing second with nine wins, a draw and five defeats.
UWA City Beach ended up finishing in third position with seven wins, a draw and seven losses while Triton had five wins, a draw and nine defeats.
With the break for both West Australian teams in the Australian Water Polo League this weekend, the stage is set for two fully strength teams from the Marlins and Applecross aside from those involved in the Inter-Continental Cup.
That means the stage is set for what should be a tremendous Grand Final on Saturday.
The two Melville teams already met five times during the regular season.
That started with an 11-11 draw back in Round 2 before the Marlins won 13-7 in Round 6, Applecross prevailed 11-5 in Round 9, the Marlins won 20-9 in Round 12 and then just this past Wednesday night, it was Applecross winning 11-8.
So considering how competitive their matches have been throughout the season, it should be another cracking contest in the Grand Final in front of what should be a good crowd at HBF Stadium on Saturday.
There’s plenty of firepower on either side as well.
Throughout the season, Madeleine Quinn scored 35 goals for the Marlins, Erin Redbond 34, Pia Rodgers 29, Zoe Arancini 17, Sarah Leavy 15, Chloe Nella 15 and Caitlin Read 12.
Meanwhile for Applecross during the season, Kelly Parks scored 39 goals, Fanny Valyi 34, Brooke Pensini 18, Luci Marsh 18, Lara Zimmerman 16, Sofia Chaves 14, Nina Tomas 11 and Kate Abbey-Wardale 10.
