THE Melville Marlins and UWA City Beach recorded Round 4 victories in the Women’s A-Grade competition and in the process handed Triton and Applecross their first defeats of the season in the process.

There were just the two games in the Women’s A-Grade action on Saturday and both took place at Bicton Pool.

That saw the Melville Marlins defeat Triton 10-3 while UWA City Beach won a cracking contest against Applecross 12-10.

SATURDAY saw the first Cross Conference action in the Men’s A-Grade competition for the 2018-19 season with the South Fremantle Bloods, Port Colts, Dolphins and Melville Sharks coming away with victories.

The 2018-19 Men’s A-Grade season opened with three rounds of teams doing battle with the other teams in their respective conferences, but on Saturday the teams from the Fremantle and UWA Conferences locked horns with one another and it produced some fascinating contests.

THERE were big wins in the Women’s A-Grade competition on Saturday for Applecross and the Melville Marlins while Triton remained the only team to win each of their opening three matches.

Beatty Park hosted its first match of the 2018-19 Women’s A-Grade season on Saturday and it saw Triton continue its undefeated start with a 10-6 victory over the UWA Rangers.
