ROUND 3 of the Men’s Premier League on Saturday sees the South Fremantle Bloods and Triton try to maintain their tremendous starts atop the Fremantle and UWA Conferences respectively up against two 1-1 teams.
It will the third round of the new-look 2017-18 Premier League season under the conference system and with four teams in each group, it means Saturday’s action will have seen all teams in the same conference having played one another.
That will lead into the opening Cross Conference round next Saturday so the teams will be out to head into that fascinating early season battle with some confidence.
The Fremantle Conference Round 3 matches at Bicton Pool sees Dolphins play the South Fremantle Bloods and the Melville Sharks take on Port Colts.
In the UWA Conference match ups at HBF Stadium, the Rangers play City Beach and Triton takes on Flotsam.
Starting with the Fremantle Conference, Dolphins play the Bloods from 1pm and that sees the South Fremantle team look for a third straight victory to open the 2017-18 season.
The Bloods have been tremendously impressive the first two rounds of the new season beating the Sharks and Colts with Will McKay, Petar Tomasevic, Nick O’Halloran, Nick Elphick and Will McKay among their stars.
Dolphins have suffered a win and loss to open proceedings beating Port Colts but losing to Melville. But they do have enough talent with the likes of Andras Jo-Kovacs, Tibor Seress, Peter Gaunt, Jeremy Carbone and Harry Paterson to take it right up to their unbeaten opponents.
The other Fremantle Conference contest takes place at 2.15pm at Bicton Pool between the Sharks and Port Colts.

It’s a crucial contest on Saturday, though, with the Sharks needing the win to remain in touch with the Bloods at the top of the standings while the Port Colts can’t afford to slip to 0-3 to remain in finals contention.
Then in the UWA Conference at HBF Stadium, the opening game takes place from 1pm between Rangers and City Beach in a battle featuring two UWA teams.
Rangers come into the contest having beaten Flotsam but losing to Triton to open the season with their team impressive featuring the likes of Tom Powell, Tim Putt, Lach Pethick, Tom Rigoll and Wil Lantzke.
