Water Polo WA was well represented at the re-opening of the Quairading Memorial Swimming Pool on Saturday 4th February with a “come n try” session conducted with 25 excited participants taking part.
The Hon Mia Davies, MLA was on hand for the occasion.
With a water polo history dating back to 1956 at the pool, it was a significant step in establishing a Flippa Ball program at the pool in 2017.
Australian Rio Olympic representative, George Ford was accompanied by Australian Junior Squad member Tom Prior, as they delivered an introductory session based on basic water polo knowledge, beginners skills and finished off with a fun game.
Ford said “It was great to be able to provide the kids from Quairading an introduction and opportunity to participate in the sport for which I have a real passion. It will be great for Quairading to be able to offer a Flippa Ball program in Term 1 of 2017.”
Local water polo stalwarts Brent and Annie McGuiness were instrumental in water polo being part of the re-opening ceremonies and we would like to acknowledge their assistance and offer of on-going support.
