
Water Polo WA has celebrated the 2025/26 season and the incredible achievements of individuals and teams throughout the year at their Awards Night last night.
Aussie Sharks and Fremantle Mariners player, Sam Nangle, took home Senior Player of the Year, following a stellar season, including an impressive 36 goals across the AWL home and away season. Nangle, currently in Malta, was recognised for his impeccable performances and Australian selection, as well as his valuable contributions out of the pool.
Long time water polo player and adminstrator, Colin Wedd, was awarded the Integrity Tyres Volunteer of the Year, acknowledged for his incredible and ongoing contribution to the Masters competition, overseeing one of the most active year-round Masters communities in the World.
On the back of Premierships in both the Senior and Junior League Grand Finals, Phantoms Water Polo Club finished the season taking home the Metro Club of the Year, also acknowledging their committment to supporting diverse groups through inclusion initiatives within the Club.
The night was held at the Raffles Hotel, bringing together Club committee members, referees, coaches, family members and Water Polo WA partners to celebrate the season.
Water Polo WA thanks the ongoing contributions and commitment of their partners, particularly the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, to assist in the delivery of its competitions and programs.
