Water Polo Western Australia held its Annual General Meeting today, marking a significant moment of transition and renewal for the organisation’s governance.

We extend our sincere thanks to Sue Gliddon, who has completed her term as Chair of the Board. Sue’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding Water Polo WA through a period of challenge and change. Her dedication to supporting staff and providing stable governance has left a lasting legacy.

The AGM also saw the election of new Board Directors and the conclusion of terms for outgoing members. We thank Mark Waters for renominating for a further two-year term. We also say thank you and farewell to Alex Pirone for his ongoing commitment despite having moved to both Melbourne and Sydney in the last 12 months! All while still playing water polo! Completing his two-year term, we thank Alex for his contributions to the sport as a valued director and outgoing Chair of the Competitions Advisory Group (CAG).

We are pleased to welcome Justin McMillan as the newly elected Chair of Water Polo WA. Justin brings a strong vision and a commitment to continuing the Board’s stability while leading the sport through exciting developments, including a Whole-of-sport review.

Lastly, we welcome James Hull as a newly elected member of the board. Already a valued and consistent volunteer for the sport, this is James first appoint as a director.

Water Polo WA remains committed to fostering a strong, inclusive, and thriving community. We thank all our volunteers, clubs, athletes, and stakeholders for their continued support and look forward to a successful season ahead.
