Water Polo WA has a structured career path in place for anyone wanting to take up the game. Kids start with Flippa Ball before graduating to SunSmart WPWAI Juniors, seniors and the high-performance WAIS program.
There is then the opportunity to represent the state and contest the National Water Polo League (NWPL) with the ultimate goal being to represent Australia in the Olympic Games as an Aussie Shark or an Aussie Stinger.
The current crop of outstanding young WA water polo players are reaping the benefits of this program as they seek to realise their dreams and emulate those before them who have won international acclaim and medals at the highest level.
Age is no barrier! There are many senior participants involved in a masters competition.
