Phantoms Water Polo Club is hosting members of the Australian team at the Beatty Park Leisure Centre on Monday 18 and Wednesday 20 March.

Mixed results for WA teams against Balmain

THE winning ways of the Fremantle Marlins and Mariners continued in Round 6 of the OVO Australian Water Polo League while the UWA Torpedoes weren’t quite so lucky playing host to the Balmain Tigers.

For the first time this season an eastern states based team made the trip west for the four games in four days against the two West Australian teams in the competition and it was a mixed visit for Balmain.

WITH pressure heating up at the top of the standings in both the Fremantle and UWA Conferences with the Grand Final approaching, there were big Round 10 results on Saturday for Dolphins and Port Colts, and Triton and UWA City Beach.

THERE were big wins in Round 13 of the Women’s A-Grade competition with the Melville Marlins beating Triton and Applecross defeating UWA City Beach.

The two games in the Women’s A-Grade competition for Round 13 started on Saturday at Bicton Pool with the Melville Marlins beating Triton 17-2.

Then on Sunday at HBF Stadium, it was Applecross defeating UWA City Beach 12-3.

Fremantle beats UWA ahead of Balmain visit

COMING off Saturday night’s Western Derbies at Bicton Pool were Fremantle scored two wins over the UWA Torpedoes, both West Australian teams host the Balmain Tigers in Round 6 of the OVO Australian Water Polo League season.

For the first time in 2019, the two WA teams will play host to an interstate visitor over four days with the Balmain Tigers coming to Perth.

IT is derby time in the OVO Australian Water Polo League this Saturday night at Bicton Pool with the Fremantle Marlins and UWA Torpedoes women looking to keep their winning form going while the UWA men will look to bounce back against the Mariners.

THE third instalment of Cross Conference action in the Men’s A-Grade competition took place on Saturday with the Port Colts, Dolphins, South Fremantle Bloods and Melville Sharks all winning making it a terrific day for Fremantle.

All four of the Cross Conference match ups were won by the teams representing the Fremantle Conference.

ROUND 12 of the Women’s A-Grade competition saw big wins for Triton and the Melville Marlins.

Both games took place on Saturday afternoon and at HBF Stadium’s Outdoor Pool, Triton scored an emphatic 19-0 victory against UWA City Beach.

And at Bicton Pool, the battle of Melville teams in the Women’s A-Grade competition saw the Melville Marlins defeat Applecross 20-9.
