Men’s Premier League fixtures announced for 2017-18

THE new-look Men’s Premier League competition will begin this Saturday October 14 with the 2017-18 fixtures announced featuring four teams each in the Fremantle and UWA Conferences.

The Water Polo WA Premier League competition has undergone a facelift heading into the 2017-18 season and the teams will now be separated into two separate conference made up of four sides each.

The Fremantle Conference will feature the Melville Sharks, Dolphins, Port Colts and South Fremantle Bloods. The players in those teams will then be available for selection with the Fremantle Mariners in the National Water Polo League.

The UWA Conference will be made up of City Beach, Flotsam, Rangers and Triton with those players to then be available for the UWA Torpedoes in the NWPL that will begin in January.

The season begins this Saturday with the Fremantle Conference matches to be played at Bicton Pool while the UWA Conference’s games will be played at HBF Stadium.

The season will feature 16 rounds between this Saturday and Saturday Match 10 ahead of the finals.

Twelve of those rounds will see each conference battle their teams from their same conference meaning they will play one another four times.

The other four rounds will feature cross conference action meaning that all teams in the Premier League for 2017-18 will play another at least once.
