Freo v UWA Torpedoes

The National Water Polo League Western Derby

Saturday 28 January, 2017

Bicton Pool (Melville Water Polo Club)

The two West Australian National League Clubs are playing the first Western Derby of 2017 this week hosted by Fremantle at the magnificent Bicton pool. Both teams are looking very strong and ready to showcase their skills and entertain from the water by the riverside. This is definitely an event not to be missed by the water polo fans in WA. Fremantle have had an encouraging start to the 2017 NWPL season after a hard 6 day road trip in Sydney, where the Marlins won 3 games out of 6 and the Mariners claimed victory twice. The UWA Torpedoes women’s and men’s teams have had a great start to the NWPL season with 4 from 4 wins each on the road. This has been the best start to a National League season in the history of the UWA Torpedoes. Come expecting to see the best players in WA, including 2016 Rio Olympians, performing in what should be two very close contests this Saturday evening.
