Frank J Sturgeon – a man to celebrate
The Board and staff of Water Polo WA would like to acknowledge the lifetime of tireless work and positive influence of the late Frank J Sturgeon to the game in this state.
Frank was a stalwart of the Dolphins water polo club and of water polo in Western Australia for many years, performing many different functions.
His contribution to the club and the sport can, in a small way, be recognised by his life membership of Dolphins Water Polo Club (1960) and life membership of Water Polo Western Australia (1973).
Frank was also awarded the Beaurepaire Memorial Trophy for services to the sport in Western Australia on two occasions, 1962-63 and 1996-97.
Franks tireless efforts so early in the sports existence and again some 30 years later signify a lifetime of giving to a sport he loved.
The sport of water polo is better off due to Frank’s efforts as are the many lives he has touched.
It is a sad passing of a life worth celebrating.
