THE Women’s A-Grade competition for 2018-19 featured nine rounds before the mid-season break and with precious separating all four teams, it’s going to be a fascinating run home when the action resumes on Saturday February 2.

Despite a hiccup early three rounds in when it was decided that Dolphins and the UWA Rangers wouldn’t continue for the rest of the 2018-19 season, the Women’s A-Grade competition has settled nicely with four strongly competitive teams.

UWA Torpedoes/Fremantle OVO AWL Fixtures

THE 2019 edition of the OVO Australian Water Polo League is about to get underway with the Fremantle Mariners and Marlins starting this weekend in Adelaide before the UWA Torpedoes start the following week on a six-day, six-game NSW trip.

The 2019 OVO AWL season begins in the opening weekend of February and will run through to the start of May when the finals series will be held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Men’s A-Grade– Round 7 Results

THE last round of Men’s A-Grade competition action before the break until February took place on Saturday with Fremantle Conference wins for the Melville Sharks and Port Colts, and in the UWA Conference for UWA Rangers and UWA Flotsam.

THE final Women’s A-Grade action for 2018 took place on Saturday with a match each at HBF Stadium and Bicton Pool with victories for UWA City Beach and Applecross.

Development Opportunity for Referees and Coaches

As the Australian Junior Men and Youth Boys will be training in Perth from 17-22 December a unique learning and development opportunity has presented itself for aspiring young referees and coaches.

THE Melville Marlins and Applecross came away with strong victories on Saturday in the Women’s A-Grade competition with both games held at Bicton Pool.

The two games in Round 8 of the Women’s A-Grade competition were both held at Bicton Pool with the Melville Marlins beating UWA City Beach 7-5 and Applecross defeating Triton 13-6.
