Water Polo WA are pleased to announce a new three-year, $135,000 partnership between Healthway and Water Polo WA, which is set to continue a long standing partnership in the delivery of the SunSmart message.
Healthway has committed to become a naming rights partner for the following Water Polo WA programs
SunSmart Junior Competition
SunSmart Referee Program.
As part of this new partnership, Water Polo WA is delighted to announce that the WA State Country Championships will now be known as the SunSmart State Country Championships for 2019, 2020 and 2021, which means the Sun Smart message will now get to all 17 WA clubs and associations, encompassing all 4300 WA members.
The Sun Smart message is about increasing awareness and encouraging the community to display sun protective behaviour. Water Polo WA members are exposed to radiation from the sun while training, competing and spectating. Reflective radiation from water increases the potential for skin and eye damage.
Water Polo WA General Manager, Benjamin Haywood is grateful for the ongoing support of Healthway and looks forward to working in partnerships to deliver the SunSmart message
“Australia is the Skin Cancer capital of the world, with one in two people developing skin cancer before the age of 70. This partnership offers a range of opportunities to change behaviour and prevent skin cancer.” Mr Haywood said.
