SOUTH Fremantle Bloods and Port Colts won their Fremantle Conference Men’s A-Grade matches on Saturday to continue their fight over a Grand Final spot while there were wins in the UWA Conference for UWA Flotsam and Triton.
The two Fremantle Conference match ups took place at Bicton Pool in Round 11 of the Men’s A-Grade on Saturday.
That saw Port Colts defeat Dolphins 12-8 and South Fremantle Bloods prevail 18-9 over the Melville Sharks.
The UWA Conference action took place at Beatty Park with UWA Flotsam beating UWA Rangers 12-8 and Triton defeating UWA City Beach 9-6.
Following Round 11 of the 2018-19 season, the South Fremantle Bloods hold a 9-2 record in the Fremantle Conference ahead of Port Colts (8-3), Melville Sharks (3-7, one draw) and Dolphins (1-9, one draw).
Meanwhile in the UWA Conference, UWA Flotsam are locked in for a Grand Final appearance representing their conference with nine wins, a loss and draw from the 11 matches.
UWA City Beach have six wins and five losses, Triton five wins, five losses and a draw, and UWA Rangers one win and 10 defeats.
The round’s action got underway on Saturday at Beatty Park with the Fremantle Conference matches taking place on Sunday with the Fremantle Mariners playing the UNSW Wests Magpies in the Australian Water Polo League on the Saturday.
The UWA Conference action began with the UWA Rangers and UWA Flotsam locking horns, with Flotsam prevailing 12-7.
Drew Lilleyman delivered five goals for Flotsam, Matt Gibb four and Cade Logan two. Menno Talbot scored three times for Rangers and Owen Terry twice.
Lilleyman received the three votes, Talbot two and Gibb one.
The other UWA Conference game featured Triton defeating UWA City Beach 9-6.
Lewis Putt hit three goals for Triton, Matt Oberman two and Josh Reaper two. Ollie Sheldrick and Ben Marshal finished with two goals apiece for City Beach.
Putt received three votes, Sheldrick two and Luke Quinlivan one.
Then in the Fremantle Conference action on Sunday at Bicton Pool, Port Colts defeated Dolphins 12-8.
Luke Pavillard scored three goals for Port Colts, Davis Verboon two, Elijah Neesham two, Tom Prior two and Clancy Neesham two. Jeremy Carbone nailed three goals for Dolphins and Harry Paterson two.
Marko Draksimovic was given the three votes, Pavillard two and Prior one.
The last game of the round was also at Bicton Pool with the Bloods beating the Sharks 18-9.
Scott Chrystal finished with four goals for South Fremantle, Kieran Bayles three, Alastair Bruce three, Mitchell Gerritzen two, Cody Smith two and Will Mackay two.
Adam Richardson hit three goals for the Sharks, Toby Muir two and Craig Bruce two.
Richardson was presented with the three votes, Chrystal two and John Hedges one.
