THE Melville Marlins and UWA City Beach recorded Round 4 victories in the Women’s A-Grade competition and in the process handed Triton and Applecross their first defeats of the season in the process.
There were just the two games in the Women’s A-Grade action on Saturday and both took place at Bicton Pool.
That saw the Melville Marlins defeat Triton 10-3 while UWA City Beach won a cracking contest against Applecross 12-10.
Those results saw the Melville Marlins remain undefeated in the 2018-19 season with three wins and a draw from the opening four rounds.
Triton sits on a 3-1 record while Applecross has two wins, a draw and a loss, and UWA City Beach two wins and two losses. Dolphins and UWA Rangers remain winless.
The first match of the round took place at Bicton Pool to begin the afternoon with the Melville Marlins taking on Triton.
It was a strong win in the end for the Marlins who prevailed 10-3 with Erin Redbond scoring four goals, Madeleine Quinn three and Pia Rodgers two. Jamie Oberman scored twice for Triton.
The second game followed also at Bicton Pool with Applecross playing UWA City Beach.
It was a tremendous contest between the two teams as they played out a contest featuring 22 goals, with UWA City Beach ending up prevailing 12-10 over Applecross.
Madi Rigo scored five goals for UWA City Beach, Tayla Walsh four and Pippa Pedley two.
Fanny Valyi, Kate Abbey-Wardale, Brooke Pensini and Kelly Parks all scored two goals apiece for Applecross.
