THE six teams competing in the Women’s A-Grade competition for the 2018-19 season will all begin their campaigns this Saturday across Bicton Pool and HBF Stadium.
While the six teams in the Women’s A-Grade competition will be classified as being part of either the Fremantle or UWA Conferences, this season Water Polo WA will see each round be a Cross Conference fixture set up to avoid the regular byes of the last season.
The three teams from the Fremantle Conference are the Melville Marlins, Applecross and Dolphins while the three teams from the UWA Conference are UWA City Beach, Triton and the UWA Rangers.
So each round of the season will see two of the three matches take place between teams from their own conference, and then one Cross Conference match up.
The UWA Rangers enter the season as the defending champions having won the UWA Conference last season and then going on to beat the Melville Marlins 13-10 in the Grand Final.
Round 1 of the 2018-19 season gets underway this Saturday afternoon starting at 3.45pm at Bicton Pool with the Melville Marlins taking on Dolphins.
Following that at Bicton Pool will be a Cross Conference contest between Applecross and the UWA Rangers.
There will be the one Women’s A-Grade contest at HBF Stadium as well at 3.45pm featuring Triton against UWA City Beach.
